Memorial 2
And God Called Jason Home
Created by K T DeSantis, Allen Park, Colorado - October, 2001

The sculpture's title comes from John's email announcing Jason's passing. It was sent while the family was still in Vancouver.

This metal sculpture incorporates an angel, on the left, and Jason, on the right.  The angel is taking Jason home.  Surrounding them are the moon, stars, and birds.  Between them is God's large heart.

Jason and the angel are connected at their legs by a banner that reads: "We Love You Jason"

Diagonally, across the angel's body, from right leg to left chest, is stamped: "And God Called Jason Home."  On the left leg is the word "Beauty."

On Jason's body from upper right chest to lower left leg is stamped: "You will live in our hearts forever." On his right leg is the word: "Strength."  Over his left chest is the word: "Grace."  Jason's heart is bigger than the angel's.
About Kristan T. DeSantis

Jason met KT and Marc, her husband, while climbing during his first trip out west after high school.  What started out as climbing friends became his family away from home.  KT and Marc and then Storm became very close to Jason in many ways.

Once, while I was visiting Jason, we went for a hike in the Rocky Mountain National Park.  I carried baby Storm in a chest carrier.  Other hikers probably thought we were three generations out for a family hike.  For those few hours, we were.

A special thanks to KT.

KT began this work as a pencil sketch while in Cincinnati for Jason's funeral. She completed it recently. She is working with a museum so it may become part of a collection.

Her work is amazing.  In the lower right area is a figure with a red cap. Actually it is the same cap Jason is wearing on the Pictures 2 web page.

A special Thanks to KT for making this happen.
